What's included

  • Tax return preparation — Federal and state personal returns
  • Quarterly estimated taxes — Calculations and payment reminders
  • Annual tax planning meeting — Covers withholding, deductions, and any relevant year-end moves
  • Ongoing Q&A — Year-round access via email and Slack
  • ISO/NSO/RSU guidance — Grant and vesting schedule tracking, exercise and sale guidance, and AMT awareness
  • QSBS awareness — We review your equity grants for potential Section 1202 eligibility. If there's a planning opportunity worth pursuing, we'll recommend a full engagement.
  • Year-end tax-loss harvesting review — Identifying opportunities and coordinating timing with you or your wealth manager

What's not included: Angel investing support, active QSBS strategy, complex multi-state planning, trust or estate planning, entity strategy, or charitable planning beyond standard deductions. If your situation includes these, Tier 2 is likely the better fit.

In addition to everything in Tier 1, this includes

  • Proactive planning calendar — Quarterly strategy check-ins. These can be live or asynchronous depending on your preference.
  • ISO/AMT exercise modeling — Multi-year scenario analysis for when to exercise, how much to exercise, and the AMT implications for each path.
  • QSBS strategy — Qualification analysis, holding period tracking, and identification of planning opportunities for employer equity and angel investments. If trust-based strategies are appropriate, we can coordinate with an estate attorney to design and implement.
  • Tender offer and secondary sale guidance — Tax impact modeling and real-time decision support when opportunities arise.
  • Multi-state tax planning — Residency analysis, income allocation, and remote work issues.
  • Angel investing support — Tax strategy and structuring guidance, including which entity types are most effective for your situation. K-1 tracking, basis management, state nexus issues, and evaluation of the tax implications of new investments.
  • Charitable planning — DAF strategy and timing, guidance on which providers fit your situation, and advice on contributing appreciated stock — including timing, valuation, and holding period considerations.
  • Advisor coordination — If relevant, we will communicate directly with your wealth manager, estate attorney, corporate attorney, and other professionals.

What's not included: Complex trust administration, multi-generational family planning, or ongoing involvement in a fund or operating business. For those situations, we may be able to offer a custom engagement — please reach out to discuss.
